About Approach Portfolio Clients Contact Intranet

We are a small group of highly motivated scientists and programmers dedicated to improving the communication of science through digital media.

Our designers & animators have graduate level training in a life science-related field (M.A., Ph.D., or M.D.) - a combination of skills that is difficult to come by. Our success in attracting such a multi-talented group of professionals is what makes the Digizyme team unique in the industry.

Depending on client needs and evolving project parameters, we also scale our services to include additional capabilities. We maintain close relationships with firms and individuals who extend Digizyme's services beyond its core capabilities (including technical writers, database programmers, medical illustrators, and voice talents among others).

FOUNDERS

Gaël McGill, Ph.D. - President & CEO
Driven by a passion for the visualization and communication of science, Gaël co-founded Digizyme while a research fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. As creative lead on all Digizyme accounts, he offers clients a unique perspective thanks to his background in basic research, web/multimedia programming, graphic design and animation.

Gaël has served as a scientific and communications consultant for the Boston Scientific Corporation (and remains a Technical Review Board member there) and also serves on the scientific advisory board of Vast Scientific. He has been Director of Product Development & New Technologies at Xpogen, Inc., an enterprise bioinformatics software company, and a director of the Harvard Biotechnology Club where he has organized seminar series on issues of science and entrepreneurship in biotechnology. After working at Dupont-Merck Pharmaceuticals and INSERM/Cochin Hospital in Paris, he completed his PhD at Harvard Medical School in the Division of Medical Sciences (Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology) and continued his postdoctoral research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. His research on the mechanisms of tumor cell death/apoptosis was supported by the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals fellowships, and resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications (including the cover of Cell, and highlighted by BBC media & other news organizations). Gaël received his B.A. summa cum laude in Biology, Music, and Art History from Swarthmore College. He is currently also a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School where he teaches advanced scientific visualization techniques.
