Gaël McGill, Ph.D.
- President & CEO
Driven by a passion for the visualization and communication
of science, Gaël co-founded Digizyme while a research
fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical
School. As creative lead on all Digizyme accounts, he offers
clients a unique perspective thanks to his background in
basic research, web/multimedia programming, graphic design and animation.
Gaël has served as a scientific and communications consultant
for the Boston Scientific Corporation (and remains a Technical
Review Board member there) and also serves on the scientific advisory board of Vast Scientific. He has been Director
of Product Development & New Technologies at Xpogen, Inc.,
an enterprise bioinformatics software company, and a director
of the Harvard Biotechnology Club where he has organized seminar
series on issues of science and entrepreneurship in biotechnology.
After working at Dupont-Merck Pharmaceuticals and INSERM/Cochin
Hospital in Paris, he completed his PhD at Harvard Medical
School in the Division of Medical Sciences (Biochemistry &
Molecular Pharmacology) and continued his postdoctoral research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. His research on the mechanisms of
tumor cell death/apoptosis was supported by the prestigious
Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals
fellowships, and resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications
(including the cover of Cell, and highlighted by
BBC media & other news organizations). Gaël received
his B.A. summa cum laude in Biology, Music, and Art
History from Swarthmore College. He is currently also a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School where he teaches advanced scientific visualization techniques.
Jeannie Park - Project
Manager & Lead Programmer
As the technical architect of Digizyme's projects, Jeannie
oversees the planning, development, and implementation of
our clients' programming needs. With a breadth of computer
science skills, diverse background in education and the arts,
and superior communication and organizational skills, Jeannie
infuses our clients' work with creative technical solutions
to meet their needs.
Prior to co-founding Digizyme, Jeannie received her software
engineering degree at Harvard University, where she focused
on multimedia technologies. She has dedicated her pedagogical
and programming talents to communicating complex scientific
concepts through her work in Professor Stuart Schreiber’s
chemical biology laboratory at Harvard, as well as at the
Institute for Chemistry and Chemical Biology and the Harvard
Center for Genomics Research. Following her initial training
as a violinist, composer, and teacher, Jeannie served as Assistant
Director of Admissions at New England Conservatory. She received
her B.A. from Swarthmore College with majors in Music and
English.
